Our Program

We operate an indoor/outdoor play based program at Orbost Kindergarten with an emergent curriculum, which respects and supports the ways children learn. This reflects sound research that children learn best through play and by engaging in experiences that interest them. Our kindergarten values sustained and purposeful play and our program is guided by the National Early Years Learning Framework and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework.

3 Year Old Program

Orbost Kindergarten’s three year old program includes two groups with 22 children per group (depending on numbers), attending three hours a week. The groups and times are:

Tuesday   9.00 pm – 12.00 noon, 3 hours
Thursday  9.00 pm – 12.00 noon, 3 hours

Tuesday   9.00 pm – 12.00 noon, 3 hours
Thursday  9.00 pm – 12.00 noon, 3 hours

4 Year Old Program

Orbost  Kindergarten’s four year old program includes two groups with up to 30 children per group, attending fifteen hours a week  The groups and times are:

RED Group
Monday          8.45 am – 2.15pm, 5.5 hours
Wednesday  8.45 am – 2.15pm, 5.5 hours
Friday             8.45 am – 12.45pm, 4 hours

BLUE Group
Tuesday   8.30 am – 4.00 pm, 7.5 hours
Thursday  8.30 am – 4.00 pm, 7.5 hours
